Louisiana’s Best Proposal – Update – The Wedding

The proposal was amazing and authentically Louisiana, through and through. Mid-May 2014, my lil brother, Joe, surprised his girlfriend, Brittany, after a morning of fishing at Lake Martin in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. She had no idea that their families and closest friends were waiting for them on the bank to assist in the surprise. We were all bursting with excitement as the time grew closer for him to bring her in for the big moment. As they pulled up, the first thing she saw was their dog Molly with a sign around her neck that read “Will you marry my dad?” A genius idea from my lil sister, Crystal. As they approached the bank her (and our) tears started to flow. My lil brother dug the ring out of the ice chest and got down on one knee right there in the boat and popped the question!! What a wonderful day it was, even the sunset that afternoon was one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.

The update: I am proud to say that on June 6, 2015, Joe made good on his promise to make Brittany his wife! The wedding was gorgeous and everything we expected it would be. No doubt, as big sister, I cried like a baby – so proud of them both as they exchanged their vows promising to love each other forever. Enjoy the photos below of both the engagement and the wedding and join us in welcoming his beautiful bride into our family!! #loveofalifetime
